In my opinion the future development are oblique to the limited resources as oil, gas and water. If the science fnd fast opportunies to solve the upcoming problems maybe the world will still be a mostly peaceful world. If the problem about limited resources can´t be solved the nations will start fighting to save there amount of the resources. And strong nations will restrict weak nations.

Moreover the enviromental problems will force problems with will affect the international community. If the global warning goes on we may have the first enviromental refugees in 50 years. And global warning is just one of your huge internationals enviromental problems.
