Blog assignment 1 - What is Globalization ?

1. summary

When asked what globalization is, few books have a clear definition of the concept of globalization. Because globalization has political discourse and different perspectives. In order to civilized the idea of globalization, many scholars speak in a pluralistic way about globalization. Velho (1997) said globalization is an object, point of view and horizon. Although access as an object to globalization is not entirely possible, it can be focused on specific objects in a purposeful way. Velho argues that scholars and many observers alike have different views from all over the world. He also said that globalization is understood as a way for the world to move. The debate over globalization research has continued and is still ongoing. As studies from the 1970s and 1980s show, interest in globalization began centuries ago. In fact, the term became widespread around the world after the Berlin Wall collapsed in 1989.

Sociologists say there are three main aspects of globalization: economics, politics, and culture. Culture has become more and more apparent due to concerns about economic globalization. Ritzer is sure that McDonald's is an important point, not complete cultural imperialism, as a form of cultural globalization. Not only McDonald's, but many U.S. companies such as Nike, Starbucks, and Gap are trying to spread their products and services around the world. However, it has been revealed that these brands need to adapt to the local environment. In other words, from the social aspect of globalization, we must remember to include the way we communicate. Although this is not more important than other factors, human perception of the environment is an important factor and part of modern culture.

Some people talk about a globalized world. But there is no standard of what a completely hardened world will look like. In this sense, the globalized world is an impossible world. Taking a localization approach to this problem, globalization is a self-constrained process. In other words, globalization does not make sense in the sense of homogenized force. So far, we have focused on portraying the stage of globalization. This is a historical issue. Much more needs to be done on this particular topic, and much more is being done. Ultimately, we need to understand globalization in terms of spatial and temporal terms.

You need to understand the possibility of not being able to answer the question "What is globalization?" We must aim for globalization to be a way of looking at the world.

2. mention of any new, interesting, or unusual items learned

It was new that globalization is a difficult concept to define and is still being discussed about its meaning. I also learned that globalization is an impossible concept in some ways.

3. question

The United Nations said that globalization focuses on four criteria: the state, the world, politics, individuals and the human race. I'm curious about each example.

  2. What you can see from the example of where the ingredients are made for cookies and the process in which uniforms of the English soccer team are made is that countries around the world interact and cooperate with each other even when they make products. We can also see that globalization is very close to our lives.
