Blog assignment 2 : Culture globalization

1.Summary

Scholars will agree that globalization occurs in many dimensions and in many ways. Globalization occurs simultaneously and without priority. It goes on a range of economic, political, technological development, and so on. Especially as media and communications technologies develop, they become faster and more complex. Integrate global connectivity processes. The interconnections and inter dependencies that specify globalization develop rapidly and continue to grow. The most basic of modern world social, economic, and cultural life is affected by globalization.  Among the influences are equity, goods, people, knowledge, information and ideas, crime, pollution, disease, fashion, belief, image, etc. The most important of these is the economy. The economy is not a global connection but a key factor. It also limits the imagination and language of business executives, politicians and activists.

Culture seems to be an inactive category in which people experience or imitate but do not produce or form themselves. But culture shows active and transformative personality. Culture is the creation of meaning in life. In fact, people are willing to sacrifice in some situations, depending on their belief in the purpose of existence and good purpose. Culture makes our existence meaningful and harmonized. In our daily lives, culture influences decision making a lot. A general assumption about the process of globalization will lead to a single world culture. Globalization has general uniformity. However, increasing global connectivity does not mean world reunification, the broadest meaning economically or politically. Many scholars spoke about totalitarian culture and expressed anxiety. We should not confuse simple cultural assets with their own customs. Having hamburgers and drinking coke and playing computer games do not mean that we are in surrender to Western culture. We should think about cultural identity. We must come up with a much more agile and flexible cultural concept than we have.

2.Interest thing

I have been worried about Westernization for a long time and think that Korean culture has disappeared a lot due to rapid development. However, it was interesting to say in this article that Korean culture was not gone. It was also good to see globalization from a new point of view and agree on the need for a new cultural concept.

3. Discussion

The culture includes food, clothing, and language, and I wonder how we can define cultural differences from cultural assets.
